O Underworld! Press is the private press of Bennett Bedoukian, operated out of his shop outside of Havelock, Ontario (traditionally Michi-Saagiig territory, covered by Treaty 20), where he lives with his partner and dog.
Beginning in 2017 with the purchase of a barely functional Lightning Jobber, without treadle or working motor, all of the printing required spinning the fly-wheel by hand. Over time, and with some fortuitous salvaging of equipment from various barns around rural Ontario, the shop has expanded to include a 10×15 Chandler & Price (new style) platen press, and a Challenge KA-15 proofing press, which are now the means of production.
The catalogue of O Underworld! Press is curated by the proprietor (me) based on whim, fancy, and a perhaps misguided idea of literary importance. The primary focus being the printing of books & chapbooks, completed at a rate of about one-per-annum. While it is highly unlikely I would accept a commission for a book, there is always the possibility I would take on a commission for a broadside.
